One of the experiences I´ve been passing through when teaching conversation is that when you use cards with questions, specially with subjects of the interest of the student, they get involved and speak more than in a simple reading, for example. So, this is a good tip: Prepare simple cards with questions about a selected subject, like culture, family, health, etc. If you can use pictures, it´ll be very helpful.
